BIOGRAPHY

Jeffrey Zimmerman was Philadelphia born and raised in a 16 foot wide row home in the Mount Airy part of the city. He began working at age 15 and was employed, in turn, as a stock boy, cashier, retail sales clerk, warehouseman, concessionaire at Veteran’s Stadium, Ticketron operator and as a bank teller, advancing in his career as he attended school. He attended and graduated with honors from the prestigious Central High School, being a member of the school’s renown debating team. He attended LaSalle University where he was a member of the St. Thomas More Law Society, paying his own way through school, and graduated with honors as a Criminal Justice major in 1976.

Mr. Zimmerman attended Dickinson School of Law and Villanova Law School, graduating in the top of his class with his law degree in 1979. During law school, he served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Raymond Lederer, in the Philadelphia Juvenile Court, and as a law clerk to a busy Northeast personal injury firm. Mr. Zimmerman also graduated the American Trial Lawyers Association National College of Advocacy

He has since worked in the field of personal injury, learning from some of the best attorneys in his field. Beginning as trial assistant on major cases, he went on to run his own practice and head the civil litigation unit of a successful Bucks County firm. He remains in partnership with that firm, while running a personal practice for quality clients and where justice requires his personal involvement.

Mr. Zimmerman has concentrated his practice in personal injury litigation for over thirty-five years, with special expertise in major injury and death claims, motor vehicle and premises [fall down] cases, as well as work place injuries, nursing home negligence, motorcycle and truck cases. He has personally handled thousands of personal injury cases, winning settlements, verdicts and awards amounting to tens of millions of dollars in recoveries. Mr. Zimmerman is well qualified to handle the more complex cases, having gained in-depth experience with safety design, engineering, construction, accident reconstruction and medical issues. He has gained recoveries on several cases in excess of $1,000,000 each.

He is a member in good standing of the Pennsylvania Bar, the Eastern Federal District of Pennsylvania and the Federal Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He has appeared before the Courts of Common Pleas in Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, Lehigh, Monroe and Dauphin Counties. He has argued before the Pennsylvania Superior Court. He has appeared pro hoc vice [by leave of the court] in both the states of New Jersey and Delaware. He has performed pro bono [non-paid] work for the indigent on many occasions, as well as supporting many local and national charities.

Mr. Zimmerman has several published appellate decisions, making law in Pennsylvania. He has published articles in professional journals, text books and various publications. He has presented talks on many legal topics to interested groups, including the Knights of Columbus, the Philadelphia Dental Society and golden age groups.

He enjoys a close and warm relationship with many of Philadelphia’s ethnic communities, including the Hispanic community, and is equipped to represent Spanish, Hebrew, Chinese, Vietnamese, Russian, Polish, French, Albanian and Arabic speaking clients.

He is active in several charities and is a Mason. He volunteers his time for public speaking engagements to educate the community on their legal rights. He is a published writer and has written a number of professional and literary works.

Mr. Zimmerman takes care to present the personal side of his client’s losses, taking pride to “represent the client, not just the case.”
